Just want to run this past the group.
Instead of running cables to a stick to steer,is it
possible to just steer it with a tiller handle?

Would it be possible ??? Sure...If you build it with that in mind..But you may end up doing some wild swinging to get the rudder from lock to lock if need be..You could also run a simple rod from a rudder arm{or "crows foot"} to the control stick in a direct link and probably save your arm a little...Even an offset transom bellcrank system would be easy,light and cheap to build...
Some of the old minis around here had a front mounted steering wheel with the cable running up the sidewalls...
There's so many ways to get the job done...

Morning Cork,
I was just wondering if that was possible guess anything is if
one puts their mind to it. I'll more then likely do it the conventional
way.After I posted that and a few hours later laying in bed was thinking
about how much weight there'd be on the tiller handle and that's what I
want to stay away from,my long tail had plenty of weight hanging off the
back.All of this will take awhile seeing I don't have access to a welder thinking
about buying one from Harbor freight just something to get me going

I haven't checked in a while but Lowes and Home Depot has smaller 110 volt lincoln welders at a reasonable price...Although the harbor freight units may be a little cheaper in the long run good money is spent on even the cheapest brand name welder compared to those..You'd be able to get any engine stand/cage welding done you'd need with one of those...

Never even gave them thought there's a Menards close by I'll
look on line and see if they carry any and compare prices.Don't need
anything to great just like you said get the cage and stand done. My new
motor should be here tomorrow looking forward to that. Have a good night

Me and my dad use harbor freight flux welders and they work great ive built so much stuff and they are durable ive left mine out in the weather a few times and it still works til this day and no problem out of it and they are only $90

Wow 90 bucks is hard to beat for a welder...I haven't priced them lately...Some units you can buy that are gas ready for some mig action with an additional kit...
