    Two 4x8 Mini Builds

Im a new member but my partner in crime txtiverrat has been on here for a while. We have been planning these for a year or so and finally got after it. Picked up the metal for the first boat last Wednesday and got started cutting out the pieces. This is the progress the first evening in about 4 hours.

Tonight's progress. Hull is complete except for deck. Prop should be here tomorrow so we'll start the engine stand, seat and shroud. We are running a 22hp Predator with a 42 inch 3 blade ultra prop.

It's built out of 5052 sheet. As it sits right now it weighs 100 pounds.

Ronnie and I work good together. He tells me what to do and I do it. Lol
He has forgot more about metal work after 50 years of doing it than I'll ever hope to know.

How do you like the Eastwood spool gun ??? I bought one for my build and was very happy with the unit...You can't beat the quality for the price IMO...

It has been a very good tool at a good price. Is it a Miller, no, but it works great.

Got the prop put on the engine. It's starting to get hot in here in Texas. Pretty much just piddling around in the evenings. We also have to reconfigure the exhaust.

Looking good... The local harbor freight store has specials running on those engines seems like every other month here...I'll be watching and waiting to hear how you like that engine....I think you'll be happy with it...
I see you have the original exhaust flanges with the bends on the engine block...That will certainly help with the exhaust fabrication...Way better than trying to bend them from scratch in such a short working area...

Is the bottom of your transom flat? It should be arched a bit to make it a little stronger in that area as well as make it slide.

No. Its been too dang hot here in Texas. By the time we get off after working outside all day the last that we want to do is work in a 110 degree shop all evening. Won't be too long though and we'll be back after.
