For low power open water running the guy recently posting about his Cat Hull mock up got me to thinking.
Considering racing hydroplanes are sort of catamarans in a way... lower water surface contact at highest speeds
I am thinking two pontoons or Cat hulls spread apart might present the lowest water drag to an air propelled vehicle.
Here is a photo I picked up out of an old magazine.... It does not show the motor or prop but you surely
get the idea. What is drawn here is is the use of two airplane pontoons or floats.
So best performance, can mean either the fastest on a given HP or the least HP required to attain a certain speed.
Better efficiency funnels back to less fuel used so that is always good.
