    The new guy

Hey, I'm new to airboats but big into boating. I just finished building a long tail mud motor. I'm from North Dakota. I have realized how useful an airboat could be but I need some help in starting my design. I want it to be able to go across ice drop into open water then climb back onto the ice, think half froze lake or river. Thanks in advance!

I am new to the airboat world as well but I am nearing completion of my build. I will assume that you definitely want a grass rake so that you don't plunge the front under water and it will give you a "ramp" so to speak to get you up out of the water a little easier. You are definitely going to want to add a reduction unit because you will need a lot of thrust to get over those ledges. There are tons that know more than me on here and I am sure they will chime in soon. Welcome and best of luck. Holler if you need anything!
