    084 ignition

i'm having some trouble with my 084 not getting any spark. i talked to chuck at airboat pros and he said to check the points for corrosin. well i did that and there was nothing wrong with them. also chuck said to use the screw on the back of the magneto to ground out the magneto for the kill switch. problem is it already is grounded. when i run a continuity test on the condenser it is grounded. is this the problem or am i just missing something?

    jesse,

I haven't worked on the 084 in a while, but I remember the way we shut down the engine is to ground a screw on the magneto. I would try unhooking that ground, and see if the solves your problem. If not, Papee or someone with more recent experience will be able to help you out.

    Good luck,
    Dave
