that will work Ron! my goal is to be catching white bass out of it this spring.
Transom braceing is done. Gunnels are done. Most of the ribs are done and I got a good start on the front deck. I saved a ton of money by shopping at the scrap yard. Front deck is ugly but will never be seen once covered.
Looking good. I'm not sure about your plans but I would put some corner braces in at the transom. Just a triangle cut and put in sideways a few inches from the top. It will help sturdy up the back a bit. You can look at my build thread for them if you don't know what I mean.

I have corner braceing drawn in on my pen sketch. I haven't decided if I'm going to do it now or have it be part of my cage structure. It will be there eventually though.
Good Job! Using the center wire for gauge is a smart thing to do. Did you get the arch in at the transom?

I have to flip the boat over for the arch. It's not done yet but will be. The string line is a little trick I learned the hard way. I want my gunnels to both look alike.
Well I went ahead and added these corner bracket thingys. Aside from the ugly welds it can out alright.
Still a lot of work left to do here but she ought to slide now.
Good looking work. I like the corners...should slide and handle pretty good and yet still be pretty stable. Keep up the good work.

Time for an update yet? I imagine you are busy welding at this point. It takes a good while to get everything welded after tacking everything together.

I had to take a little break. We drew alligator tags this year and I'm in a hotel right now. Getting skunked so far. It has rained every day of the hunt. Still hopefull though. I should be able to fire up the welder Sunday.
LUCKY!!! Lol. Where you get for the tags. I tried but didnt get them.

Steinhagen on dam b. not going well at all. Rain and temp dropped today.
That aint good. Ive heard a lot of the same down this way..not the real big ones around. My buddy got a 7-8 footer down here around holey lands. He also had what would have been a 12 footer but was missing a large part of his tail just at the part where the tail has those two sets of scoots go to one. So about 3 foot was missing.

Well since I don't catch a gator it's back to boat building. I only get to work weekends so its a slow build. All the ribs are in
Finally get to roll it over and start stitching it up. Got one of the offsets done.
Looking Good! You have made great progress. Maybe next year you can use your airboat to get that gator??

I sure hope to use it on a lot of critters. I'm frustrated at how slow its going though. I moved from 40 hours to 60 hour work week and hospice has given my dad 2 weeks. This boat has been a blessing to me. It has given me a goal and it keeps my hands and mind busy. Maybe next Saturday I can complete the seams and water test.
