    Red face Gas Tank

What is the general size for a gas tank using the 4A084? How fuel efficient would you say they are? Which is better, aluminum or poly?

Neither is better really. It's all in what you need as far as size. I had a 12 gallon fuel cell in mine with a gas gauge but took it out and put the 6 gallon plastic boat tank back in for convenience. I can take the tank out and get it filled and don't have to take the boat along. I've never needed more than the six gallons on a trip but your use may be different.

I have a 9 gallon poly tank in mine and the boat is balanced perfectly when full. I located it directly below my engine. I've found the engine to be extremely fuel efficient and I agree with Papee that a 6 gallon tank should be adequate for nearly any trip.

    Re: Gas Tank

I have an aluminum gas tank of about 9 gallons and I have never run out of gas and ive frogged on my boat for about 4-5 hours a trip and never shutting the engine off running anywhere from 1500-2500 rpm. I found that I burn roughly 1 gal/hr. Doesnt mtter if im running hard or slow speen it seeme like it comes out the same. My dads boat has a 6 gal plastic boat tank in it and his runs about the same fuel consumption wise.
