    aluminum ice hull

    i need to start my hull build now that I have all my parts I will be running mainly on ice I am using aluminum with poly on bottom would a flat bottom be good or should I put some chine in the bottom I may run water a little would .090 be thick enough for bottom with poly or should I go .125 boat 12x6 with 5 t bars

    Everything sounds good to me. I would run a flat bottom for your use, I always put a 1 inch arch at the transom and let it flatten as it goes forward.

    I'd use 125 for everything on that since there will be a lot of flexing going on. It won't add that much weight since you're already putting the poly on. What engine are you going to use?

    I have a 60 hp 2 stroke Yamaha with a 5 belt redrive and a 68 in warpdrive

    I use structural channel rather than Ts, I think it makes a stronger boat and they are easier to walk on. Just my preference.
