I know this an old post but how does it run? I have a corvair on a 11x6 and can not get it to run dry

It ran pretty good but would not run dry. Topped out at about 30mph in water. I have since done away with the corvair and put a 2.8 chevy motor on it. Still doesn't run dry, but much more reliable and I run about 33 mph. Good fishing boat.

I tried two different props on it. The first one was a wooden Banks Maxwell, and the second one was a three-blade Ivo prop. The Ivo prop was definitely a better match for the engine, much lighter. Just keep in mind while running a Corvair you need a reverse rotation propeller.
