    Valve Cover gaskets

Since running the 084 I've noticed it's hard to get the original valve cover gaskets to seal. I've been using permatex on them but still have trouble will small leaks. The stock gaskets are hard paper-like and leak often. I decided to fix this today. I had a roll of cork gasket material so I used a stock gasket to trace out the gasket on the cork gasket material. This fixes the leak problems. Following is a photo of the gasket I made and a PDF file of the original gasket you can print and use for a template.

Hey Papee, the new gaskets are hard too, they have been in storage for over 20 years. To renew an old gasket, put some axle greese on your fingers and rub it into both sides of the gasket. This will soften the gasket and it will seal. Use blue locktite on the valve cover screws.
    Thanks, Chuck
