    Shaft extension

The shaft on my kohler is 1"x2.5".
that leaves only 6" between head and prop.
I have a choice shaft extension or cut and reweld the headers.
I'd rather extend the shaft 5"-6".
Any one know of bolt on shaft extension??
If it was summer I'd build a redrive.
    I'm past my dead line.

Maybe you could just put a spacer on your adapter. I would guess that that may be better than extending the shaft. I can't remember any more how long mine was but most likely around 5.

    Zion,

It's just my opinion, but I think that a shaft extension would be a big mistake.

I promise you that the closer the prop is to the supporting bearings, the better off you will be.

Maybe I misunderstood your question. 6" between head and prop should be plenty. (At least as far as the head and the prop care)

I don't know the specifics, but I'd go with the cut and re weld the headers idea, I think.

How about posting a couple photos, so we better understand?

    I know your right.
    I'm gona chop the headers.
    That wont cost anything.
I'll be glad when its running.
I'm tired of working on it and spending money on it.
All I have left to try it is build the cage and rudders.
Then the controls. I have a night watch job and other day jobs.
Its gona be fun once its finished.
    Maybe ten days.
I bought a helmet cam on Ebay. So when I take it out for a spin everyone can watch.
    Thanks for support.

I just called midwest. The technician said he would best some custom headers for the same price $20.
    Heck the S&H was $15
