    Buster,

I haven't seen recent photos. It looks very NICE. You done really good.

I'll pass the word amongst my local friends. I don't know if any will be interested, but who knows. I'll try anyway. Even if I can't run along with YOU, I'd take a lot of pleasure in running along with your boat.

Uh, BTW, that IS a "delivered to NC price", right? (Just kidding)

Hopefully it'll sell quickly, so that you can get started on the Tomcat restoration.

    Good Luck.

    Duane,

These are all the pictures I have left of the boat. I had a bunch in my big computer, that crashed, but when they fixed it the shop had to strip it and reload it. There went all my stuff

They also put another operating system and a video card in it. Bottom line is, I don't know how to use it anymore I guess I'll just continue to run my "backup" computer. It is the only that (so far) never gives me any trouble.

BTW, I just listed the Aircat 084 on ebay, and it start shortly.

    Buster,

I talked your Aircat 084 up with a co-worker today, and showed him a couple of photos. He liked what he saw, and seemed to be mildly interested until I mentioned that it was in Minnesota.

For some strange reason, he seems to have the idea that Minnesota is a long trip from North Carolina. Go figure. Some people have no idea of distance.

I'll continue to share it amongst my friends and co-workers.

I looked for your boat on EBAY last night, but didn't find it. I have not looked for it yet today. I'll do it in a while. I have to go mow grass now.

Good luck with your sale efforts. I know you want to get started on the Tomcat.

Who ever gets that boat will be getting a good boat. I have all the build photos saved from the old forum I just haven't been feeling good enough to get them all moved into the proper thread.

    Papee,

I agree. It'll be a good boat. I'm sure that it can still use a little tweaking, but it'd be a great start for someone. Seems like it's about 95% there.

I was going to offer to send Buster the photos that I'd saved, but if you have all of them, then that'd be even better. I didn't save all of them.

    Buster,

I just now found it on EBAY.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MINI-...item2c5c129c5e

    It's listed as a 2010 Astro Aircat Mini-Airboat. Huh?

But the listing looks good. Maybe you'll get a lot of bites on it. I hope so, anyway.

I just wanted to bring this thread up to date, in case anyone is interested in buying a boat "way up norte" in Minnesota!

Anyway, yesterday I re-listed the Aircat 084 on eBay with a Starting price of $5,000.00.

I have had some nibbles on it, but It seems to me that folks are recovering from a poor economy, and they may need a bit longer before they can afford any more toys!

I hope the 5,000. is ONLY a starting point because I really need to sell it at this point, so dig deep fellas, it is a lot of boat for the money!

    Thanks, Dave

    Bruce,

I haven't had an opportunity to see the Aircat 084 personally.

But I have had the pleasure of seeing it built (re-built?) in photos over the last couple years.

I've wished Buster luck in his new project, and hope he can sell the Aircat 084 soon, so that he can finance that project.

If the economy hadn't gone into the crapper, I bet it'd already been sold.

Whoever buys it will be getting a heck of a deal. Buster has put a LOT of work and devotion into the Aircat 084.

I've tried, and think that I could have helped him sell it a couple of times, IF it wasn't way up Nawth. I've had several inquiries from the photos that I've put on the bulletin boards at work. Something about the trip way up Nawth to go see it puts them off.

    Hey Duane,

Tell those prospective buyers that it may seem like a long drive, but they will really like it up here when they get here

Well we can put this thread to bed now, the Aircat 084 will be on its way to Wyoming, tomorrow. The buyer said he needs it to get to his home because they expect his road to be under five feet of water next week.

This is his first Airboat so I hope it works out well for him. Maybe he will become an avid airboat enthusist shortly.

    Buster,

I'm glad that you've sold the Aircat, but sad for the buyer's situation.

I can only hope that its not as dire as you said.

We'll keep them in our thoughts, for sure.

    Duane,

At least he said his home was ok, it was only the road that will be under water. Thank god for small favors.

I suppose this means I will need a new picture for my avatar?

    Hey Bogger,

Thanks for the note. I didn't get quite what I thought I should have gotton, but times are tough and I'm glad Ed will be putting it to good use during their flood.

As you know I still have a Tomcat to build up. Somehow I keep finding reasons to put it off a bit longer, but I hope to have it ready by the time Duane gets his boat in the water. I think I'll adopt Duanes policy that the longer it takes to finish it, the longer the enjoyment lasts. As long as my energy is on hiatis, that sounds like a plan! I'll be 74 next month, so I guess I don't need to explain why I'm slowing down some

I do have some different plans for building the Tomcat, and I hope they will work out. For one thing, I plan to use an 1835 VW, Direct drive. Plans are to keep it as a low budget as possible, but still usable. Wish me luck.

    Take care,
    Dave

Incidently, I came across an outfit affiliated with ebay, that finds shippers for boats and vehicles across the country, or whereever you need to ship it. It is called uShip, and I think it is worthwhile checking out. We got a good bid from them, and overall was very happy with the service. Dave

Incidently, I found an outfit affiliated with eBay that takes bids for shippers to haul boats and vehicles. I got a good price bid to ship it about 800 miles. I think it is worth checking it out if you ever need it. I recieved bids for about a week, and I used the lowest bid, and was very happy with the entire process. It is called uShip.

    Good Luck, Dave
