Hi folks, glad to have found this forum

My boat building experience is limited to the 36 ft Bayfield cutter ketch I began to build years ago ( I had to give her up due to financial reasons ). I do have a very wide mechanical background, I've been a military mechanic for over ten years (retired due to spinal injury) and before that I was involved in the design and build of industrial process equipment.

I've been thinking about building an airboat for a long long time. I was recently offered a subaru engine with really low mileage (super low... like 1500 miles) for 50 bucks. I dont know all that much about the subbie, heck I don't even know which subbie it is... I haven't even seen it yet lol.

I think it's time I go ahead and build myself an airboat! I'm thinking what I want fits the mini classification, I don't need to haul a ton of gear... I just want some fun on the bay of fundy.. and maybe do a little flounder fishing I don't want a massive hull... if anyone could suggest some overall parameters I would really appreciate it
