    Well I'm at it again!

I had bought this hull from a friend and decided to build another boat. It's a 12ft aluminum hull with poly and I'm putting a 50hp air cooled kawasaki ultralite motor on it. I'm running a 68" IVO prop. Propably going to go with a flat army green for the color should be done in a couple weeks

It's a 3 blade, but it is a ultralight prop, verses the other one on my 582 is a medium.

    Bil,

    That's looking good.

I don't know ANYTHING about Kawasaki ultralight motors, but 50 HP should do nicely on that hull if you have the right reduction ratio and the right prop.

Is that a 2 cycle or 4 cycle engine? Does it have a reduction drive?

I assume that the prop and engine came from the same place, and with a 68" prop I also assume that there is a reduction drive.

    Inquiring minds want to know...

Good luck with it, and please keep us posted.

It is a 2 stroke! I don't know much about the kawasaki engines myself...Heard they were good engines so I'm stepping out on a limb to see! It is a (brand new) totally rebuilt from the crank out motor.
I also bought a 5 belt magnum reduction unit @ 1 to 2.58. These engines are susposed to turn about 500 more rpms than the rotax (Not meaning its a better engine or anything). So safe redline is at about 7000 rpms
figure my prop will be turning somewhere around 2700 rpms. We'll see what happens.

    Bil,

It sure sounds like you have the reduction figured out. You may have to play with that prop a bit to find the sweet spot, or try a different prop, but I bet its going to do very well before you're done.

    Please keep us posted.
