Hey Dlight
looks like your getting there. Can't wait to see it go on the water. Good budget ride.
I like it!

Boat specs:
Hull, 116 fiberglass
Bottom, Frog spit
Motor, Rotax 532 dual carb
65 ponies to push with
Reduction, 2.58/1
Prop, IVO 62in.3blade adjustable
Rigging, 0.5 and 0.75 emt
All still under construction
Only turning 2400 RPM.
Slower than expected....
New bigger motor on the way (Honda GX660). I am sure this could be one of those never ending projects, much like my 82 CJ7...
Nice going! It really doesn't look like it doing too bad with the two people in it.

New engine - Honda GX660 with 42"-22 Wide Prop.
Runs great in shallow water, planes out good with two passengers and runs consistently 10-12 MPH - top speed 16 MPH.
Engine turns 3500 RPM on the trailer. (Too many RPMs - I know)
I have another prop that I plan to try (42-24 standard width) after my hull repairs are complete. I hit a nasty concrete chunk in shallow water and took on some minor damage to the hull at the rear.
I would like to be able to consistently stay on plane.
Any recommendations for a polymer or epoxy coating?
Hey Dlight,
It looks good.
I like the triger gas control. I got a twist grip , but I think the triger setup might be a better way.
Frog spit is a good product!
I got mine from chuck at airboat pro's. they sprayed it on I think.
Thanks Bogger

Thanks Bogger2! I tried a dual prop set-up today. 42-22 Wide Prop next to the motor and a Standard 42-24 in rear. Results were less than expected. Although I was turning 2600 RPM on the trailer with the dual prop set-up, the single wide 42-22 at higher rpm (3600) outperformed the dual prop set-up. I plan to go back and try the 42-24 standard prop by itself.
A couple of pics of the rig with a single prop set-up attached below
Dlight,
Are those just two props bolted on top of each other? Neat idea.... I like the trigger throttle idea too. I'm trying to figure out a slick way to make it happen. Perhaps you could show a close up of your set up?
Flathead
Flathead - The Dual Props are bolted together using grade-8 5/16" diameter bolts. There is a metal plate between them to prevent the props from crushing into each other.
As for the trigger throttle, I stopped in at the local bicycle shop and purchased a simple break lever mechanism and a brake cable for a tandem (Bike built for two). That is the longest cable they had available. It works great! I will try to get some pics up soon. I think some longer cables are available on ebay.
