It was all me guys, I had the setting wrong. Just have a look around and make sure you do everything. I have a guy that is also checking it out for me that know what all the features are here. I'm sure you'll stumble on some of them while you're looking around. You can have photo albums right here in the forum without leaving the site now also.

Yeah, I've kinda' made the transition. I support Papee's efforts, but it's been touch and go here too.

Maybe he'll get it worked out before long.

I guess it was a good day for it. I wasn't feeling quiet up to snuff, but TCM ran 2 of my favorite movies, "Cool Hand Luke", and "No Time for Sergeants" back to back.

Looks like I have pretty much everything under control now guys as far as getting all the others in with no problems. Everything seems to be working, I just need to clean up some threads that still say "imported" and replace all the photos. All this stuff was SUPPOSED to be automatic. It will take me a while to get all the threads caught up with the photos but everything is here. Looks like I'll have to replace Buster's avatar again but I think I can do it on my own. Let me know if you have any questions, I'm sure it will take a while for everyone to find all the new features of the new board.

All the smileys are here, you have to used the advanced post to get them, you are most likely using quick reply.

Looks like I got my avatar replaced all by myself. I still can't figure how use, or even find, the smileys though.

In the quick reply on the bottom right it says: [post quick reply] [go advanced] Click on the [go advanced] to get the full editor and smileys. You can do this after you already have the message, before, or in the middle of your typing and you will not lose anything.

Nah, all of the smileys are not there. And I can only attached one smiley. See above.

They are all there, you have to hit more to see the rest, I'll rearrange them so your favorites are listed first.

You have to go to the advanced mode and it will look like this.

Then if you don't see the smileys you want you click on the more and you will get a popup like this. I moved most of the favorite ones to the first few. If there are any others you want to me to move up let me know.

OK, I see now. I switched to my wife's account and I can't see the smileys. I'm working on it.

I did have ribs, but I just got some more from my wife. That's where they come from ya know, according to the bible!

edit I turned yours on guys but this is what was wrong.

OK guys here it is. Go to your user setting by clicking on the settings link at the very top right corner of the forum. my profile/settings/log out

On the menu called My settings click General Settings
at the bottom you will see this, make sure you have the Enhanced Interface Checked as in the photo below.



I'll try to figure out how to make this the normal setting so new users won't have to go through this. Thank you as always in telling me I don't get it

Well, I'll be darned. THERE they are now.

Honestly, I don't like this version of the forum as much as the other one. For one thing, it forces me to re-log on so often.

But I'm sticking with 'ya. You'll get it worked out, I'm sure.

Edit: I had to turn it on. And I had to log on again. You may have "thought" that you'd done it for me, but that didn't work. Dadgumit, my smileys have disappeared again.



Ah... they're back. I had to re-select advanced mode. Grrr.....

JUst let me know about that stuff Duane, I can change any of those settings. The spammers just attack those free boards so hard it is not worth the trouble. If you put a fix in for it they have a way around it in a day or two and I get 100's of emails from spam accounts. I just can't hold off any longer or it will make so much work for me I would never get it done. I will be putting the redirect page up some time tonight but as I said, I will post a link here to the old forum. I just want to prevent more posts there. I don't want to have to import any more from the old site. I do have all the treads here now but I have to rebuild the photos in the threads.

I also have a few "imported_users" which I am working on now but all in all I am very happy with the switch. We just need to get the settings the way we like them. There are so many choices. I will work on the logging you out deal right now. This is to prevent a server overload from users not logging out. You do have remember me checked right?

OFF to do more adjusting!!
