    morrie,

The easiest way is to use a teleflex control cable, avaible from Chuck at Airboat Pro's., or any airboat dealer.

I made up two systems using electrical tubing (EMT), and sperical rod ends. After I finished each one, I wished I had done them differently. It was a little cheaper (not much), but a lot more time consuming.

Point I am trying to make is, each boat will require a little different design, so you need to figure out your own, or get someone to take a look at your setup and suggest something that will work best.

The main thing is, a left hand control stick should turn the boat left when you pull it back. A right hand control should be opposite. Also, keep the cable or control rods off to the side, and out of the way, so they don't get stepped on.

    Good luck, Dave

    Hey Morrie,
If you want to mke your stearing out of Pipe instead of teliflex. Check out my build under Builds/ Boggers Rotax Rig/ page two. I have a picture or two of how to set up stearing using EMT pipe. It's a little cheeper but I think the teliflex stearing is pobably a little smother. Mine ain't bad with the heim jionts though. Good luck with your build.

Morrie, he does sell the cable in any length you need. I have one coming from him and will be doing my steering over shortly.

    morrie,

I ain't speaking for Chuck. This is just how I understand it.

I don't think it's a "by the foot" kind of number. I think that the price is pretty much the same, regardless of length (within reason). I "think" that Chuck takes a standard Teleflex steering cable, cuts it to the length you need, and puts his end back on it.

That's just the way I understsand it. You really need to talk with Chuck.

Give him a call. I promise that he'll do you right, and help you out any way that he can.

    His number is: 352-330-1015

Hey Papee, Your steering cable and your starter/generator kit will go out tomorrow. We got the pulley sleved to 7 inch dia so it will crank better.
Hey morrie. all the steering cables under 14 ft are $ 185.00.
    Thanks, Chuck

Whoo hooo looks like I have some work to do. Thanks Chuck, I'll send the old pulley down along with anything else I need to include. I'll pull the boat in the garage tomorrow and get it started.

    Papee,

I want to see what Chuck has came up with.

Back when the weather was still warm enough, I tried my starter, but it didn't work very well. Actually, it was a dismal failure. Don't tell Buster though. (He knows already )

When the weather warms up a bit, I've got another idea or 2 to try.

Hey Papee, all we need is the pully as a core so we can get another one made.
    Thanks, Chuck
