    TOYOTA RECALLS

Is anybody besides me, tired of hearing about how the
recalls are so terrible for the Toyota reputation?

Seems to me many car companies have had recalls, and
people still buy their cars. I'm not a Toyota fan, but I doubt
a recall or two would deter me if I liked the car.

As I understand it they have two main problems, the accelerator sticks
wide open, and the brakes don't work. It seems like those Toyota drivers
    are just too finicky

    Re: TOYOTA RECALLS

    Dave,

I "am" a Toyota fan. Have a '03 Camry in the driveway to prove it.

It was the replacement for a '92 Corolla.

These problems are NOT big news to me. It's just the news media grasping at things.

Every auto maker has had to deal with these kind of issues. They all identify the problem, come up with a fix, and then move on.

In my lifetime, I have never known of an auto maker that has not been there and done that. But how many auto makers have we seen go under because of a recall?

Like you, I am tired of hearing the news media going over and over it though.

When that Camry gets old and feeble (It's still feeling it's oats), it'll probably be replaced by another Toyota. Heck, this car is now almost 8 years old, and has never had a major problem. Regular service, second set of tires, second battery.

Back just a few years ago, any 8 year old car would be considered old and decrepid.

    It's the news media...

    Re: TOYOTA RECALLS

I'm on my 5th toyota pickup and have been happy with all of them. It's never put me to walking when I didn't deserve it (E means just enough to make it!---it DOESN'T).
