    how to measure wood prop pitch

    i have a 24" wood prop how would i measure the pitch? can i use a straight edge and a square on the face? do u measure at the tip or near the hub?
    this prop has no stamps on it any where. this is an old prop but very well taken care of and rarely used

    You can find it's angle pretty easily with an angle finder, but there's a bit more invloved in determining its pitch.

    Most places I've read mention measuring the prop at a point about 75% from the center to the tip.

    Here's a pretty decent explaination. They're talking about model airplane props, but the concept is the same. This article explains it much better than I could.
