I see you got rain today too Papee, but yours is white. It's going to be real cold here tonight, about 40 degrees.
Chuck
Yep the darn stuff came down in lumps. I called you earlier, nothing important. We are doing the DARPA Challenge and needed someone to check at the Bithlo Speedway. There were 10 balloons around the US and first to find them gets 40G. It's not over yet though.

Hey Papee
I can't say that I miss that white stuff even a little bit. Spent most of the day putting several hundred newly potted cuttings in the greenhouse as we are expecting frost tonight. Luckly I only put up with this a few times a year. Watch out for the ice and stay safe.

I think I'm pretty safe here, I bought a new snow blower a few weeks ago so we most likely won't get enough to use it. Isn't that how it usually goes.

Papee your storm is here in Maine now.... brrr...
I love the white stuff! as long as I have toys to play in it with.
Hey Guys,
We actually got some of that white stuff within 40 miles from here. But the temp. will be in the 50's tomorrow so if i don't have to go with wife tomorrow it may be time to go crappie fishing
Jim
P.S. I looked at another hull today about 50 miles from here. I think my best bet is to save my change and go toward Chuckville. Time will tell.

I'm happy that I've never needed a snow blower. We don't get that much of the stuff. When we do get it, I can clear what I need in a few minutes with a snow shovel.
Fortunately, that only happens a couple of times a season, and then only every few years or so.
I've got a feeling that this is going to be one of those years.....

We've been lucky here the past few years. The last bad one was about 5-6 years ago. 27" over 2 days. We're due to get slammed but with all the rain this year maybe not. I would like to get one about 5-6 inches so I can take the boat out for some video.

Papee.
If you really want to try out that new snowblower, c'mon over. We can accomodated you here
Also, bring the "snowboat" along too.
Problem is, this morning my thermometer seems to be stuck, won't register anything . Don't know how to fix it. Guess I just wait by the TV, and hope it fixes itself eventually

Dave,
That thermometer is not broken. It is in denial.
Bring it inside, set it by the fire, talk soothingly to it, and it'll be O.K.
In just a few minutes, I bet it'll start reading close to 70 degrees.

See, Duane does know how to fix everything.
Chuck
Who'da thunk a North Carolina boy would know how to repair a thermometer with clinical depression?
I would have guessed he had never even seen one before . In Minnesota, we usually just let them be, and they usually start working good again in April or May
Thanks for the diagnoisis Dr. Duane

Dave,
I've seen a similar problem here, except they seem to get stuck on 100 in September. Must've been something about trying to prove it's value.
Today, the one that had that problem in September was on 28, but during the heat of the day it seemed to be stuck on 35.
I'll check on it first thing in the morning. I bet it'll be about 25. If so, I may bring it in to counsel it.

Wow,
100 degrees Makes me like Minnesota winter a lot more just thinking about that.
Well, if mine even points to 100, I'll make sure it gets professional counseling, or maybe just ship it to you, that is if I can find my asbestos gloves. I will assume it must be a southern model
I wonder at what temp. a plastic thermometer would melt

I don't think they are rated like that in the north Buster. Northern thermometers have a snow load rating.

Yeah Papee,
You're right about the snow load part, that's a necessity

The hurricanes are enuff, without a snow load. My thermometer is secured solidly to the wall of the shop, so it can survive the hurricane winds. It's a shame I can't bring it inside to warm it up though.
O.K., you guys keep the snow. We'll stick with the hurricanes.
Brrr.... you make me cold just thinking about it.
BTW, it was a balmy 24 degrees this morning. But no Snow !

I think it warmed up into the twenties today. Funny how comfortable that feels when the temps been in single digits for the last week or so.....right buster?
Bruce
Bruce,
Ya got that right, every little bit helps! Good to hear from you at last, anything new on the Fat Cat?
Duane,
Don't worry too much about the hurricanes, I watched something on TV recently, about a possibility of sunameis on the east coast among other places in the world. That don't sound good.
I wasn't paying much attention as to the location, but somewhere in the world they may get a wall of water 3,000 ft. high.
