with Warp Drive Blades, they can be cut to fit. Anytime i am not sure what length to use, i order them longer and it they are too much, i cut them in the band saw.

    Re: Redrive Remix

    Chuck,

    That's an idea.

What are your thoughts on the nickel leading edges? Are they needed on a deep open hull like the MiniPro 116? I can see a real need for them on a shallow deckover, where it's likely to get some water into the prop regularly.

    Thanks,

    Duane

The nickel leading should be used on all airboats. Going up small creeks with limbs hanging out, you can't miss them all and running weed beads and tall grass. In Florida, these blades picked up the nick name, weedeater.

    Chuck,

O.K., if I should decide to go with a Warp Drive prop, I'll pay the extra bucks for the Nickle leading edges.

Seems like every time I talk with you, I need to spend more money....

Just kidding, you've kept me out of a lot of trouble. And saved me a lot of money in the long run, I'm sure.

    Thanks,

The warps are a good prop and they probably don't put out any significant additional sound over similar props. You might want to hear one before buying one...they do have a unique signature. Not saying that is good or bad just unique.

Chuck is spot on in recommending the leading edge. I would also add sand and dirt on the list as well.

    Re: Redrive Remix

    All,

I spent a little time on the phone today talking with Ron at Hoverhawk Corporation, the distributor for Warp Drive propellers.

After I finished talking with him, I'm leaning towards eventually trying one of the 66" 3 blade Warp Drive props. BTW, He confirmed that if I decide that I need to cut it down to 60" later, it wouldn't be a problem.

    Wildfowl,

I wonder if the "unique signature" that you mention maybe has to do with the number of blades. You mentioned that most of the Warp Drive props you've seen had 6 or more blades.

    Thanks,

    Duane

Edit: Thier prices are a little below what's posted on thier web site.

Hey Duane, Yeah it could have to do with the number of blades thats a very real possibility.

    Thanks for the info.

When running the Warp Drive Blades with a 1.69 to 1 ratio and turning the motor 3600 RPM, The prop is only turning 2130 RPM. They don't make much sound at that speed compared to running them DD and turning 2900 RPM. At 2900 RPM, they sound like a weedeater.

    Re: Redrive Remix

Hey Duane, I checked out the Hoverhawk site and they are a dealer just like i am. Their prices are the same as the price sheets that Darrell at Warp Drive sent me. Be careful not to order the wrong blade type. That's why they have a model designed for airboats. The airboat models come with the nickel leading edges, a protractor, and includes ground shipping.
I can make it better by running a special and giving a discount of $ 50.00 to any member of the MiniAirboatAssoc that orders a Warp Drive from Airboat Pro's.
I will try to get time tomorrow to scan in the price sheet from Warp Drive. It is the same as Hoverhawk's add.
    Thanks, Chuck

    Re: Redrive Remix

    Chuck,

My mistake. I googled Warp Drive, and went to the Warp Drive website,

    http://www.warpdriveprops.com/

It comes up as HoverHawk. And thier website makes it sound as if they are THE distributor for Warp Drive.

For sure, when I get ready, I'll order it from you.

Because I know you'll do me right.

Thanks for clearing that up for me,

    Chuck,

I know you've been busy, but did you ever talk again with Sensenich about the Saber prop for a Mini?

According to what little I've been able to find out, (from a SA forum source) the Saber isn't in production yet. It's supposed to go into production next Monday.

That probably explains why there's so little info available on them so far.

    Thanks,

Hey Duane, Sensenich will be sending me some of the new blades for testing. I hope to have them by Tuesday and plan some testing on that weekend.
    Thanks, Chuck
