Duane...I still say there was some divine intervention at work when you picked up your engine.

I have actually learned a ton about the 084 from you and all the other o84ers on here. List is becoming to large to mention you all by name (with my crds I might forget one by mistake but you all know who).

That's why when I found this one all stripped down, cleaned up, gone thru, and partially moded out with the ignition, carb, and prop hub I REALLY appreciated what it was. I have a weak cylinder and the starter/generator to figure out and the redrive to decide and probably one of Chucks intakes and a carb (most likely) then there is the exhaust and mufflers and the rudders and steering and throttle controls and guages and wiring and... But most of it is done right?

My intentions are to be on the water in April...Morel mushroom hunting season. Should we start some pools? :P

    Hey Wildfowl,
You got your hands on a nice looking motor. Good find!
I hope your build goes good. The garage looks nice, just wait that will change as mine did. I can't wait to wrap up my buid so I can regain control over my garage again. I will be finishing my fan cage this weekend, then dissasemble for paint. Getting close.

Yep, it's "almost" ready to put in the water now....

All it's missing is a couple of finishing touches.

    Good luck with it !

If we do start a pool, I'm betting that my project will be the last to hit the water.

    Bogger,

As you know these things always take longer than we think they will and I am confident that I will be no exception to the rule. So... I was talking about the idea of everyone throwing in a buck and a guess as to when I might actually get to the water.

Yep Duane almost there. :P At this point I still have more questions than answers so it will be a while yet.

One thing is for sure... I am having an absolute blast with this project and it is all good!

    Re: BIE Back in Business

    Wildfowl,

Not only do they take much longer than expected, but they cost much more than expected.

I said many times, here and other places, that I started on this project as much for the pleasure of building it as anything else, and the longer it takes, the more pleasure it gives me.

I may still be a long way from riding, but I've been having a blast with it so far.

    Thanks,

    Duane

    Duane,

I like the way you think about working on the boat. I enjoyed having something to work on, and not being in a hurry. Now that winter is near, I guess the rush to get it done has eased somewhat, so now I can enjoy it some more It's all good

    I agree,
If I didn't like the challange of the design and fabrication, I would of just save the money up and bought one of Chucks real nice boats. Only thing I wouldn't have a project to help me keep my sanity. And be sides that, Its neat to create custom things that no one else has one exactly like yours.

Hey Bogger, I could have done you a custom like no others and you could have spent all that time in the water to keep your sanity.

    Re: BIE Back in Business

Greetings from Grand Forks AFB in balmy North Dakota. The weather is here wish you were beautiful.

Wow lots of activity the last couple of days...going to take me some time to decode.

Anyway...not a lot of activity on the boat this weekend doing chores. I did have a chance to hover over the motor and play with the carb linkages while making airboat noises. I really like the part where the accelerator pump plunger engages.

I was hopeing a local builder was going to stop by and see what he wanted to glass in new stringers if I waited till he was pouring a hull anyway. Something must of came up like the football game starting at 11:30

I've always said when I was contracting that I am good, I am fast, and I am cheap. You get to pick two.

I was hoping with it being November he might have a good and cheap price. I could always work on the engine while waiting for him to pour a hull and glass some stringers.

Looking forward to reading all of the new info out there.
