    Avatar size

Since I finally got my boat looking presentable, I thought the avatar would be a good place just to display it, since it won't run anyway

I tried to put it in, but I got the message that it had to be Max file size of 6KB, or 125 X 125 pixels.

Having a "low tech" mind, in a high tech world, I have no idea how I get a picture that will qualify My camera will re-size photos to: 6M, 3M, 2M, and VGA. I think VGA is the smallest since that is the only size that work when posting pictures.

I don't have a clue what any of that means, or how to get a picture that will work. Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Dave

    Buster,

I use Photobucket's resize tool to do mine. Send me the picture you want resized and I'll do it for 'ya.

    Duane

Let's see if I remember how... These are both 125 x something...

    Duane,

Thanks for that offer. Since I don't know anything about photobucket I will gladly take you up on that offer.

The two pictures you put in this post are the ones I was considering. Can you choose one and put it in my avatar, or do I need to do it? If so, what do I do?

    Thanks, Dave

    Buster,

I don't have access to your user control panel. You'll need to do that part.

You should be able to right click on either of my resized photos you want, then do a "save as" to your usual place. From there it'd be the same procedure that you tried before, except this time it's sized small enough to work.

    It magically appeared.

Didn't know which you wanted but I put that one in because it was facing the right way. If you want it changed and can't figure it out let me know. I've also raised the avatar size to 10 kb. and 125x125.

    Hey,

    Thanks Papee and Duane,

The picture you choose is just fine.

I googled photobucket, but it looks like I would have to do about a weeks worth of reading to make sense of it. Maybe I'll do it this winter if I get time.

    Thanks again,
    Dave

    Buster,

You are certainly welcome for my small part in this....

Photobucket shouldn't take a week to figure out.... only took me about 3 days.

    Anyway, it looks nice.
