    Turbo Build

Well, I finally got the boat working the way I want so it's time for turbo power. I looked at a setup that TheSnapper posted but it was to small and it was run on an electric fan. I don't think my charging system would keep up to the current demand of that unit without adding another charging system which would take away from the engines overall power. Right now I am researching the pulley sizes. I need to get the most out of the turbo at my 2900 rpm cruise speed. I'll add some photos later.

The basic idea of this will be using a smog pump driven off the front rope starter pulley, I will be adding a smaller pulley to the front of the ropes tart pulley and mounting the smog pump to accept the belt. I will be modifying the case of the smog pump to accept a radiator host that will go from the pump outlet to the carburetor. I plan on using a KN type filter on the intake of the smog pump.

I don't need it now, I have all the speed I can handle. I took the wife to the airport today and backed up to the boat as soon as I got back. I did some fine tuning on the engine shims now I can back way off in shallow water. I still have that engine though, I'm building a mini tube buggy for my grandson. I'll eith put the 18 ho on it or the 032.
