Lost the photos, I'll have to get some more. He just called me, he finally got to try the boat out with my old homemade prop on it. It's planing out now. He's going to call me next time he goes out so I can get some video of it running.

    Re: Blackbear1966 his boat

Just bringing this to the top for some of the new guys. This was a two for one deal, a friend of mine bought a homemade wooden boat and wanted the motor and cage moved over to his 14 foot aluminum Jon Boat.

Yesterday he was down so I could make some new rudders for him. I've always told him that if he put a little time in it that it would be able to get on top of the water. It has a 23hp Briggs and my old home made 42" prop on it now.

This is/was a budget build using what the old boat provided. I told him that the motor was capable if he would get it running right and also remove the governor. I keep trying to explain that the prop will keep it from over revving. He had carburetor trouble so he took it to the local lawnmower shop and when he got it back it was running much better but still has the governor on.

Now he's excited and I've talked him into to doing some more work to it. I will be building a new cage for it as well as moving some weight around in it. We'll be moving the battery and gas tank forward. No pics of last nights work because we were trying to beat the thunderstorms.

I didn't see it run yet with one person in( he had another guy with him the other day) when we went fishing. We'll be taking it out within the next few days so I can see how it sits in the water with just him in it and also how it runs on plane. He wanted to shim the motor but I advised that he should leave it for now until I see how we will need to move the weight around first.
