yea tried by myself in deep water no plane but later i found a shallow spot in the pond and it planed with me and my dad on it.. just wont plane in deep water.. and i need to do a little more testing to find the best location to put my passenger seat so the front of my boat wont be riding to low in the water i need to get an rpm guage and see what my actual rpms are so i can figure up my prop speed and see exactly where its at..

haven't done much testing yet just that first day im gota find somewhere to take it so i can get a good day in and test all that stuff.. but yeah i'll try that i just didn't want them so close to me coz the back already sits deep in the water as it is...

it might be a lil bit... but i found a local lake where i can go do somet testing as long as the game wardens dont harass me i figure they wont give me much touble if i tell them i built it add i want to test it out some before i go register it.. they say it has a deep channel through it but most of the lake is around 2 foot deep so i can prob get on the edge and maybe get up on plane and see how fast it would go if i could get it on plane in deep water...

Randy, as far as your wire mesh is concerned. I would reccomend brazing it. That's how we've always attached our wire to the conduit. Just be careful not to apply too much heat. I would also say that the closer you and your passenger are to the center of your hull, the better it should perform. You definately need to get the weight aff of your bow. No pun intended... On our boats, we've always tried to keep as much weight to the back of the boat as possible.

yeah i think my bow shape has a little to do with it too... i dont have much of an arch i needed a longer more sloped arch so it would gradualy come up on plan but i just have a blunt nose on it not enough arch

Yeah, I highly agree! Rake has a lot to do with it. less rake = way more resistance

Re: Home Built Mini Under Construction

took the boat the the river for the 4th of july i got about a full days worth out of it...before i broke 2 of my motor mount bolts in half...... but still the same affect it just to heavy for the lil motor im working on getting an alluminum hull now around the same size that chuck sells i found a guy with one like 11x6 he built a airboat with a small block on it and he fliped it so he ordered a new hull and left that one sitting in his yard for a year or 2 might can get it cheap we'll find out.... but as far as my boat went i'd say it ran bout 10mph all day in deep water and when i finally got to the shallow's it ran faster and faster i got down to 1inch of water and it flew like nothing could hold it back but as soon as i ran out into the deep water she just started to sit down on me........ i know i haven't been posting much lately but its summer time out doing stuff...hope everyone else is havin a good summer too... i'll holler at yall later... peace...

Did you use 1/4inch ply for your hull? Did you glass it?
