Well here's what I've done to get the head temps down...I've added a bigger oil cooler {B&M supercooler} and some air scoops...These are a phase 1 rough-in just to see if I'm headed in the right...
Hey I remember when you made that bender... I forgot you had that...That sure will make the process much easier... I'm sure you'll have a nice cage when you're done..
Nice work Bart...PM me and we'll work out the details...I could use one for my other 084 engine...;thumb;
Good point Roger and the aluminum could very well end up loose with frequent oil changes...Bart going off memory, the original oil plug has straight threads and rely on the fiber washer for sealing...
Is there any evidence of pitting in the bore ??Scored rings ??? ETC... I've seen where the rings freeze up like you're describing and they make a blemish in the bore where the oil gets by the...
That's great news Papee !! Looks like plenty of water in that pic.. I'm ready myself...Can't get any more social distancing out of a morning trip than that !!
The river is at 3.6 .. I looks like it's getting low judging by what I see out there... I'm getting a late start to getting the boat in the water.. I've been doing some cooling upgrades and will be...
I'm going one step at a time..I installed a bigger oil cooler and now I'm working on some air deflectors..I'll post some pics tomorrow if Bart doesn't mind since we're all trying for the same result...

Looks good Papee..But don't worry the rocks will clean the paint off for you so you won't have so much to do this winter.....Speaking of that... I'm under mine this week re-applying some quick...
Hey Bobby good to see you posting again...I bet that situation is a life changer after all those years...
Bart, I'm assuming you have the bottom of the jugs somewhat opened for the air to flow...
I've been eyeing a harbor freight brake for some time now...I keep thinking I don't need it but I keep running into situations where the "clamp and bend" homemade stuff takes way more time doing it...
Glad to hear you're heading out this year...No doubt the ethanol fuel is unkind to something just sitting around...The Rutters across the Clarks ferry bridge has non-ethanol fuel FYI...I know a few...
Wow Bart, that's a great addition to the toys you have...It's amazing what we take for granted when we look at what it will take to fabricate..I'm guilty as well...Look at it and say " That'll be...
Yeah, that's coming along nicely...It sure is time consuming to get everything where it needs to be..Keep up the good work..
Wow, that's a nice looking cover...The shields are really starting to take shape...
Nice !! That intake sure does clean up the look...And just might give a better flow than the other set up...I'm excited for you too....
Those will work nicely...The other style you're referring to was simply EMT tubing with flared ends..They come in stainless and galvanized steel..
When I built my hull I evenly spaced the stringers...And whatever it turned out to be is what I used.. That simple.. In theory the wider bottom footprint would add stability..With that being said...
I see where you're heading with this... I figured you had it under control......Keep up the good work !!
HI Bart, Looks great !! One of the downfalls of the single plate design was that top pulley flexing... If you look at the old pics on here Chuck had run additional diagonal braces off the backside of...
That's a good looking rig there...;thumb;.. I'm glad you're out there having fun with it...If the water coming over the transom is your main concern you could possibly add a splash tray back there to...
It must be nice to go out there and just whip up whatever you need !...I worked in a machine shop back in the high school days and we had those to keep the drill bits centered as well... Great...
