    Re: The streak is gone

Yes Corky that is exactly what it was. It worked ok the first time I was out. The second time it was worse and the third blew all the oil out. They were all short runs but the rings got worn down on...

    Re: The streak is gone

Well I went to see Mark at Saturn Surplus this morning and got some parts. It was a hot one so I couldn't work for very long till I had to take an AC break. I tore the questionable head off the...

    Re: The streak is gone

When I am testing something or the boat isn't running up to par I always go up river. I was able to float and get some fishing in.

I'm within walking distance of Saturn Surplus. I'll just put in...

    The streak is gone

After the long streak with no problems it's over. Totally my fault though. When I got the boat out this year it didn't turn over by hand at first. I rocked the prop a few times and it broke lose. I...

    Re: Almost There finally.

I made it out today! It ran just like the day I put it away. I was in the water by 6:30 and finished my rounds by 9:30. A great day on the river, I needed it.

    Re: Almost There finally.

Now that made me laugh. The two or three strikes in that video were all there was. I don't fix my dents like that. I put the boat on the garage floor and put a bottle jack on the dent then a 4x4 up...

    Re: Almost There finally.

You're doing just fine on your own. Like I said in the post, it's a 40 footer, it looks good from 40 foot away. I just wanted to get some paint on it for the season. I'm going tear it down this...

I've been wanting to do a brake for a few years now. I've youtubed it a good many times but never started. I always want to wait for that perfect build. So far I like the ones that use fabbed heavy...

    Almost There finally.

After a few years of no river time I think I have the honeydo list down to a scream. I got the boat out and started getting it ready for the river.
It hadnt been started in a few years so it took...

    Re: Rudder stick travel adjustment

At 45 degrees the boat will circle in place at idle. I've never really looked or paid attention to how far I pull the stick when I need to slide the boat out in an emergency stop.

    Re: I've been busy

It's all done under the hood. The booster is ok. I replaced the master cyl, proportioning valve, all new brake lines in the front. Radiator overflow, a bunch of vaccum hoses including the check...

    Re: I've been busy

Yes unusual for sure but I'm pretty sure of it. The battery had no load on it when I disconnected it. All it took to restart it was two short fuel lines at the fuel rail.

    It's a 95 4.0 HO 4:10 5sp...

    I've been busy

A few weeks ago my jeep caught fire while I was welding on it. Bad ground, ground wires in the engine bay loom hot hot and burned. I tried to start it and drive it out of the garage. Oops, this put...

    Re: more mag troubles

That's the same problem I had with my original mag. It worked fine when cold but once it got warm it would shut down. It was a fairbanks, I have a slick mag now on for 10 years.
  20. Re: Mini pro 116 got yamaha apex motor going in it thoughts ?

The prop should work. I don't know about back pressure. All I know is the guy had trouble getting it to run right with an altered exhaust. He put a stock exhaust on it and it ran fine.
  21. Re: Mini pro 116 got yamaha apex motor going in it thoughts ?

It will be fine. Of course you'll need to match the reduction as mentioned. The biggest problem I've seen was altering the exhaust for airboat use. If the exhaust isn't tuned correct the engine won't...

    Re: Turbo 084

This is why I went with the smaller turbo hoping it would spool faster. In my mind the exhaust pressure has to be as high as possible by using a smaller diameter pipe without restricting the system....
