    Yeah, that's some sludge build-up in there !!:shock:...I wouldn't have expected that either...I bought an extra crank with all the bearings from Saturn Surplus..Now if I could only find an NOS...

    Bart, it'll be interesting to see how those chrome rings do for you...I know they're a little tougher to get seated compared to the cast iron rings but if the wear is as minimal as you're stating it...

    yeah, the factory pulled the air up from the bottom so the original shields probably won't be of much use..

    You know, you might have just answered your own question...Even with the prop it appears there isn't enough airflow to sustain these engines for extended rpms...What if you added a set of fanblades...

    Great info.. I'll have to look to see just what I've got for pistons and jug sizes... I know the cast rings will seat quicker and the chrome rings tend to break in slower...

    You're right, there's not much room in there to get the squirters shooting in the right direction...Any oil is better than none...As long as you don't bleed it off something that needs the oil down...
