Thank you for that. I'll post pics of the tear down of these engines as I go along. From what I can tell the 084 with a reduction drive spins the same prop an a-65 runs so should be nice. Just...
Hmm this is a tricky subject as there many different ways of answering. I would say more blades for more push but at the same time a wide blade may push better. I've heard a short multi blade will...
Warp drive blades can be cut down to 60" you can find them on southern airboat site for a deal sometimes.
Riveting isn't really all that bad. Lot of drilling and counter sinking holes and clecos but it ain't bad. Both boats I have are riveted and most boats down here are riveted and run some big hp...

OK so it's been a long time since my last post...and I have some very drastic change in my build plan......I managed to find a good deal on 2 continental engines....one an a-65 and the other I...
Got lots of parts that's good. Now we just have to find you a nice hull. ;)
Thank you thank you :) I'll be taking my engine off my other boat hopefully Saturday so I can start building new brackets for the starter and alternator..

I finally got my rudders together. I just have to trim the end pieces to make it more cosmetically pleasing and more stream line..
Hey Bart what ring gear are you using? It's definetly bigger in diameter then the one I'm using. I might switch to that size for my next setup. What is the overall diameter of that one?
The setup I have works just fine. And yeah I think the harley starter has some kind of gearing in it to add torque.
Wow is right. Very luck. I'm guessing the only thing at that point that was holding that blade in was the bolts and the front plate. Very lucky and I'm glad nothing really horrible happened.
Try it ya never know. You might be able to get it done with the proper jetting.
Yes I had to do a little machining to get that ring gear to fit. However u could simply mount it on the outside I would think. That ring gear is off of a 717 Rotax Sea-Doo engine. The starter is a...
Very interesting
Here is the starter setup and the alternator setup that I am using right now. I'm going to change things up and try to make thing cosmetically look better in a big way when I switch engine over to...
And I received your payment for the prop and am getting a custom box today. I'll be shipping it to you either today or tomorrow.
The idle cutoff is from the solex carb. I'll get some pix in a little bit of the starter and alternator setup I have on my engine.
The cost on the ultra prop is 250 and the boat is 1500. That's everything except the motor, exhaust, gauges, and prop obviously. I'm giving a rollbar first dibs as he contacted me via PM and I...
A standard 60x28 wood airboat prop with a wider hub is what is used on 65 continentals. However this is a narrower blade and I spin it to 2700 rpm as measured by a mechanical tach driven right off...
I'm also trying out a wood prop I got that I might sell as well. It's a 60x28 ultralight prop. The one in the pic on the boat. I'll let everyone know how it does as soon as I can get some time to...
Thanks for the congrats. One other thing I forgot to say is that I'll be selling one of my ultra props and also my yellow boat. If anyone is interested just let me know. Not sure if there is a...
2617 here is the gas tank I had custom made to fit under my back deck. I had the guy put the pickup spot in the wrong spot so I have since had it moved. I'll just plug that spot off and leave...
2613 here's a pic of most of the inner braces for the top deck
2614 the bow clecoed in place temporarily so I can measure where to cut.
2615 the bow and 2 side pieces where they go. Again clecoed...
