Been a while since anyone has heard from me on here b/c I have been a little unhappy with my mini... but Chuck is working on a new power plant for me.

All is well... haven't put many hours on the three blade. Did some head work on the Generac to get it flowing better...

Chuck,
When the IVO is at neutral what is the pitch at the tip?
subaru engines are nice.... but can get pricey
http://www.ramengines.com/index.html
it is stock 140HP... no modifications...
i also am through dealing with modified small engines... don't get me wrong the Generac I have now seems like a strong little motor considering its...
not top secret but I don't want to give anything away b/c I want to be the first with it on a boat.... just say its a 4 stroke, 46 cu in, 2 cyl motor making 140HP and weights less than 200# dry.......
stay tuned.... 130-150HP only burning 3-4gph..... it wont be till mid next year but working on getting it on the boat...
yes gph = gal/hr
There is a good motor out there near what you are describing..... it will be next summer before I have my hands on it.... stay tuned
yes charter lakes writes policies on markel paper....
as i stated there are only two insurance providers that cover airboats.... there are many agents for these two....
charter lakes is a...
buster.... check with your insurance again.... airboats are a totally different ball game, but you could be lucky....
i carry a 1 million dollar policy on my boat through markel marine ($300,000)...
like i said they dont make the drive unit anymore... i have looked...
I dont know who built that reduction unit it but hold onto it as they are difficult to find these days unless you can build your own... probably rated to handle more HP than that VW could ever put...
Papee,
wow man.... reading that bow rope reply makes it like I am new to airboats..... been around these boat since I was 9 yrs old.... and to me 5 ft is narrow for an airboat... anything less...
did he have a bow rope???? i will never leave home without one.... looks like he is kinda scared to launch or was he loading... if he was loading just get on the throttle and pull it on up... no need...
Papee,
An pics of his reduction? By the looks of it the reduction is on the flywheel side of the motor which that version is hard to find these days...
yall northern boys run some narrow boats....
this place gonna take some gettin use too..... any way to get an unread post button? i live off that button on most of my forums? or is this like most other vbulletin places? once you look at new...
just a question.... if there is not much shallow water... why do yall wish to run airboats?
nah.... i have not tried it..... worried how it will hold in soft mud.... thinking it may pull out but dont know.... nobody likes it when it pulls out... especially the ladies
i take i you run deep water? i prefer Stick-It Anchors
