My next motor!

FREE and runs great, still in the car. It's a Geo Tracker, I'll be taking the motor and running gear out to replace it with Toyota stuff. Another project, but I'm thinking of using this motor, it's in great shape. Parts are plentiful and cheap. No oil leaks on the motor.

Yay or nay?

It looks like you done some research on that engine. Do you know what it weighs? How about what the torque curve looks like?

I bet you're thinking about changing the cam, and going DD again ain't you?

I'm keeping my eyes open for a "next" engine myself. I don't know that there'll be a next engine. I may be happy with the one I've got, the 4A084. ;thumb; I hope that I am, anyway.

But I am keeping my eyes open, just in case. ;garfield; There's a topic on the S.A. forum about using a Mazda RX-7 (13B) engine that I'm following... 165HP on an 11 foot boat should be plenty, huh?

now you have my attention i would like to know how this goes and what you use for a gear red. if you put one on. i hope you go for it so i can see how its done.

i have an izuzu impulse turbo 2.0L it was a project car i bought a new motor and head that is sitting in my shed goin to waste the car is rusting down and without a D.L. i have no reason to fix a car now. i've read that its real close to the geo motor and some ppl use these motors in geo storms to give them a lil pep. i have many of times thought of using this motor on my hull but not sure how to go about it and it wouldn't be a mini any more :( but i think it would be fun
oh yeah this motor puts out 160hp@?rpms

I'll be moving this motor over to my current boat and using my 084 on the new boat. I'll be using it direct drive because I can only run a 60" prop on this hull. I'll change the 084 over to a re-drive on the new hull.
